As well, all beds have ten wide slats that securely interlock with hardwood dowels on the side rails. Side rails are joined to the head and footboards with heavy-duty cast hangers. No tools are required. King and California King sizes have center-reinforced support by way of a strong piece of hardwood that attaches to the head & foot board via drop-in hardware, just under the slats. Due to the strength of this support, no center leg is required, giving you full access to utilize all under-bed space.
